Disaster Kitchen Demonstration.

Disaster KitchedThis demonstration is a must visit. Pop up to Sandpit Field on Saturday from 11am and watch Mr Steve Hooper show off his culinary skills using a dustbin, some turf and two old car wheels.

Last years delights were spicy potato wedges, Jerk Chicken, Corn and Crab Soup.

Steve an ex-Navy Chief Petty Officer Chef, has served up dinner for many Admirals and dignitaries.

Saturday will be the active cooking display and Sunday will be a static display so Steve can participate in the Parade.

As you can imagine the Royal Navy can be called upon to help out in any areas around the world where disasters hit. All ships crews go through training in such exercises, which involve Search and Rescue, Fire Fighting, Flood relief, Crowd control in areas where there could be angry mobs due to events that have taken place. Not only do the ship’s crew ashore need feeding when in areas like this but also locals. This is where this type of kitchen could be used when nothing else is available, getting a fast and effective meal out is essential for moral.

Drill Competition

A bit of fun for any organisation that thinks they are coordinated as a team. Come and have a go?

This is run by Drill instructors from The Royal Signals Regiment at Blandford Camp, so “Yes” they do shout, but only the instructions.
